The five solas – Truths that liberate

Five hundred years ago the church and much of Europe was liberated through five key truths found in the Bible. They were known as the “five solas” and they sparked an incredible era of transformation: the Reformation. Today, these great truths are as renewing and liberating as they were back then:

  • Faith alone
  • Grace alone
  • Bible alone
  • Christ alone
  • Glory to God alone

Commencing in November 2017, we will look at each of these five truths in our morning worship service at Everton Park. All are welcome.

Unlocking God’s Word

Ken Zylstra, one of our Elders and a student for the ministry, is preaching a new sermon series on ‘Unlocking God’s Word’,looking into the key matters within the Bible. The series will cover:

  1. Faithfulness – Can God be trusted?
  2. Love – Loving God and loving man.
  3. Justice and Judgement – Housekeeping: reconciling accounts and paying debts
  4. Mercy (and grace) – Extending help and forgiveness to those who deserve condemnation
  5. Truth – God’s truth: the real truth
  6. Holiness – Being different
  7. Missions – Telling others the good news: gossiping the Gospel
