EP Youth is a ministry of the Everton Park Church that is held on a fortnightly basis. EP Youth is a mixture of food, games, social activities, service activities, worship music and bible study.
Our program includes social activities and bible studies so that the youth are able to grow in relationship with God as they also seek to get to know each other. A bible study is typically held in the church hall and is often preceded by some games and singing with supper and some free time for conversation afterwards. The bible study series changes each term and we have done a mixture of topical series and series where a book of the bible is covered. Recent series have included ‚ÄòThe Life of Peter‚, ‚ÄòThe Names of God‚, ‚ÄòDaniel‚ and we are currently running a series on ‚ÄòChoices‚.
On a social week, the location of the event and also the time of youth group often changes depending on the activity. We do a mix of paid and free social events such as trivia, messy games, desert nights, water fun or rollerskating and bowling.
EP Youth also incorporate service activities into our program to teach the youth that faith in God is to be put into actions of love and ministry to others. This term we were involved in the monthly nursing home singing, and we continue to look at service possibilities in both our church and the wider community.
EP Youth is run by four (two male leaders and two female) young adult members of the PRC under the oversight of the elders of the church. The leaders are all believers in Christ that are passionate about seeing youth come to faith in Christ and believers growing in that faith. They run EP Youth week to week because they want to see young people grow in faith, friendships and fellowship within the church of God.
